Launched in 2016, Loveness Lee is a contemporary British jewellery brand for women with a daring attitude to style. The jewellery is handmade in London using altered, ancient jewellery techniques and traditions. Natural forms, vivid hues and irregular textures define the brand’s unique and statement style.
Serendipity plays a big part in the design process as the shapes, colours and textures - although consistently recognisable - cannot be pre-determined. Loveness Lee can replicate the natural forms of the jewellery to create multiples of each design, yet each piece maintains its own uniqueness in texture and colour. The collection is made up of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, asymmetrical earrings and rings. The ‘Trans-natural’ concept behind the jewellery is envisaged from a collaboration between nature, science and art working in unison.
Using a skilled process of cuttlebone casting, patination and gold plating, Loveness Lee manipulates traditional techniques to create naturally free- formed shapes and textures; these are then meticulously hand-treated to coax an array of bright pigments and patterns. The extraordinary creation process makes each piece of Loveness Lee jewellery as unique as the woman who wears it.
Loveness Lee - the designer developed her style and craft at Middlesex University graduating in 2014, followed by a Master’s degree at London Metropolitan University’s Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture & Design in 2016.
“The inspiration for my work mainly comes from nature. I enjoy the collaborative process between myself and nature in conjunction with science. Nature is the most talented designer so I let it do the work for me - The shapes, textures and colours in my work are formed coincidentally. Each piece of my jewellery is unique in its own way," says Loveness Lee.
