Wallpaper - Large Brown Metallic Brooklyn Tins by Merci
The Brooklyn Tins wallpaper collection by Merci is bound to appeal to fans of industrial, vintage and reclaim, some of the biggest trends in interior design. This stunning tile design was inspired by the beautiful stamped ceilings and walls that became fashionable in railway stations, factories and warehouses in the United States at the end of the 19th century. The appeal of these original tin tiles continues today, often to be found in homes, shops, cafes and hotels. Each tile in the design has a gorgeous aged, vintage appeal with cracks, rust and wear all contributing to their authentic charm. The wallpaper Merci has created perfectly captures all of these features so it looks like real tiles on your wall. Although this design would look great it any room, the tile effect does lend itself well as an alternative to hallway tiles or as kitchen wallpaper. Or, why not take a bold step and paper your ceiling to truly replicate the stamped ceilings of the turn of the century? At Banbayu, Merci wallpaper is available in 7 stunning designs, all with no repeat so every tile is utterly unique. While these tiles were historically painted white to give the appearance of moulded plaster, these designs are available in both light and dark shades in varying states of disrepair.

Merci is one of the most popular concept stores in Paris and is currently headed up by artistic director and designer, Daniel Rozensztroch. The store was originally the brainchild of Bernard and Marie-France Cohen, the founders of a children’s fashion label who felt that the city lacked a venue which would collate together the best of fashion, design and household goods, with additional areas for refreshment. Set up in 2009, Merci is also designed as a space to meet and discuss, boasting a canteen, two cafes and a used book store. It has since acted as a launch-pad or developer for a number of young designers, allowing them to showcase their talents to the world. One aspect that really sets Merci apart from other stores is that, while it is still a commercial enterprise, the founders set up an endowment whereby the proceeds of their investment help to pay for educational projects in Madagascar.
The wallpaper is colourfast and washable with a soft cloth.
